Jeff Whiting’s lifelong love affair with comics began in 1978 with a fateful encounter with “Amazing Spider-Man #176.” From that moment, he was hooked on sequential art, spending countless hours poring over the work of masters like George Perez, John Byrne, and Jim Starlin.

Driven by his passion, Jeff embarked on his own artistic path, honing his skills and eventually landing inking gigs for titles like “The Tick” and the “Malibu Ultraverse,” collaborating with legendary creators like Ben Edlund.

Always seeking creative autonomy, Jeff founded his own imprint, Durendal Comics (later Brick House Digital), to self-publish his full-color comic, “Shanghai.” This marked a pioneering moment as one of the first fully digital comic books on the market.

Today, Jeff continues to push creative boundaries, recently returning to his roots with traditional pen & ink artwork. He’s currently working on new pieces featuring beloved characters, showcasing his mastery of both classic and digital techniques.

Join Jeff at the Deland Comic Convention in January to experience his unique blend of artistic talent and storytelling passion. Discover his latest original art, get your favorite comics signed, and hear firsthand about his journey in the comic book industry.
